PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS

Admission Procedure

Pre-Admission Test: All candidates, except current LPN students who are applying for the LPN/ADN Advanced Track program, are required to take the NET test.  This test can be taken twice during each calendar year. There is a required waiting period of 2 months between the first and second attempt. The admission procedure can proceed only after successful completion of the NET.

Required test scores are as follows:

LPN applicants-55% or higher  in both math and reading

ADN applicants-60% or higher in both math and reading

If applicant has taken the NET test at another testing site , an official copy of the test results be sent to ATS. NET scores remain current for a period of 3 years.

  • appointment is required to test
  • a fee of $35.00 is required at time of appointment
  • all fees are payable by cash or money order only

Application Form: a non-refundable application fee of $30.00 is required

Official Transcripts: official copies of high school transcripts, GED or college transcripts (if applicable) must be sent to ATS Institute.

Background check: all candidates are required to have negative BCI and FBI criminal background checks.

Background checks can be done through the National Background Check, Inc. phone number-1-877-932-2435. Applicants must request that the results be sent to ATS Institute.

Acceptance into ATS: upon receipt of the letter of acceptance into the nursing program a nonrefundable sitting fee of $100.00 is required. This fee is applied towards tuition  costs. Registration into the nursing program is dependent upon payment of this fee.

Required documents: upon acceptance into the nursing program copies of the following documents are required to be submitted to ATS by the date given in the acceptance letter:

  • physical examination form is to be completed and signed by your physician
  • current immunization form- MMR, TD Booster are required immunizations prior to entering into the program. Hepatitis B series is strongly recommended or a signed refusal form is required.
  • proof of Chicken Pox disease, immunization or evidence of titer.
  • TB screening, a 2 step Mantoux (done within the last year or chest xray done within the past 2 years).
  • evidence of health insurance or a signed waiver to accept personal responsibility.
  • completion of CPR course for Adults, CHildren, Infants and AED provided by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.

Upon completion of the above admission packet, an ASSET test may be required to determine placement in English courses.

Students are not required to take the ASSET test if :

  • the ACT/SAT has been taken within the last five years and official score is submitted to ATS.
  • a Bachelor's degree or higher has been completed and a diploma is presented to the school.
  • have earned a grade of C or better in transferable credit for English Composition courses.
