Financial Aid Application Interview
Contact us to schedule an interview. Allow approximately one hour. Bring your (and parent’s if dependent) IRS 1040 forms ,W-2 forms, and Personal Identification Numbers (PIN), if you have them.
During that interview, we will:
A. Assist you to complete the FAFSA;
B. Submit your application to the federal central processing service;
C. Estimate your eligibility for the various financial aid programs;
D. Complete a Family Federal Education Loan application, and a pre-loan informational interview if you wish to take out a loan;
E. Inform you of any additional paperwork needed to complete the process;
F. Inform you of what you will be expected to pay and when.
Paperwork you must bring to the interview:
A. Your federal Internal Revenue Service (IRS) form 1040 and W-2 forms;
B. Your parents’ federal IRS form and W-2 forms (dependent students only);
C. Your spouse’s federal IRS form (married students filing separate returns);
D. Current bank statements (maybe required);
E. Records of benefits received from Social Security, Veterans Affairs, Child Support, and other agencies.
Other Eligibility Requirements include the following mandates that you must:
A. Be a U.S. citizen, a permanent resident, or in the United States for other than temporary purposes;
B. Be enrolled in an eligible program of studies;
C. Not be in default on a federal loan or owe an overpayment of federal or state financial aid;
D. Be making Satisfactory Academic Progress;
E. Be registered with Selective Service, if you are a male at least 18 years of age and born after 12/31/77; (Males, over the age of 25, are no longer eligible to register.)
F. Be enrolled for at least six (6) credit hours per semester that you wish to borrow a FFEL;
G. Not be currently enrolled in high school.
